Flexible profile formation by burnish

Primarily, profile formation of -metal-sheets without coating, flexible chain tapes that are galvanized or coated with zinc, plate tapes colored, coated with plastic- through burnishing in optional fibre length (from coiled plate tapes).

Besides sheet steel, machinable coiled material can also be: copper, aluminum spelter or stainless plate.

The great advantage of it is that by flexible plate-formation process (burnish) the production of thin-walled profiles and profiles with almost endless fibre length is possible. Next to this a high level of dimension accuracy ((± 0,2mm) and geometric trueness is ensured. The properly formed profiles have statically great bearing capacity and flexibility. In many cases 30-40% of the material can be saved (because of the thickness of material) by this process.

Burnish is suitable for the formation of profiles that can be produced uneconomically, with difficulty or cannot be produced by other methods (edge-bending) at all. E.g.: almost fully or fully closed profiles.

Parameters of manufacture:

  • workable gauge number: 0,3mm-2,0mm
  • maximum spread-width: 330mm (at 2.0mm thickness is 220mm)
  • the fibre length of profiles is arbitrary (the most ideal which is suited to the cut pattern) 3.000-12.000mm. The dimensional tolerance of fibre length is 10-20mm
  • material qualities: (base material depending on the manufacturer) St 12.03, M2H, DC 01 - DC 05, FEPO 1 - FEPO 5, DX 51 - DX 54, AL 99,5
